Dilip Kumar Pandey

BioDilip Pandey is a Scholar-Practitioner of Human-Centred Democratic Governance whose work explores how democratic institutions can become more ethical, participatory, inclusive, and deeply human. Bringing together experience across legislative governance, public policy, political philosophy, literature, and civic engagement, his work focuses on democratic institutions, inclusive policy and governance, public ethics, and the role of culture in strengthening democratic societies. Born into a farming family in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, India, Dilip began his professional journey in the international technology sector after earning a Master's degree in Computer Applications (MCA). While technology shaped his systems thinking and organisational approach, he was increasingly drawn to questions of governance, public trust, and ethical leadership, leading him to transition into public life during India's anti-corruption movement. Between 2015 and 2017, he served as President of the Delhi unit of the Aam Aadmi Party. After contesting India's 2019 General Election, he was elected to the Delhi Legislative Assembly from Timarpur in 2020 and later served as Chief Whip of the ruling party. Working across legislative strategy, institutional coordination, public policy, and multiple government committees gave him first-hand insight into the opportunities and challenges of democratic governance, transforming governance from a profession into a subject of sustained intellectual inquiry.
Today, those experiences inform his doctoral research on democratic systems through the philosophical framework of Madhyastha Darshan (Coexistentialism). His work examines how ethics, coexistence, and citizen participation can contribute to more human-centred democratic institutions, bridging political philosophy with practical governance. Dilip's engagement with democratic thought extends beyond India. He is a Stanford Fisher Family Summer Fellow and served as First Vice President of the Global Council of Political Renewal (2022–2025), an international organisation dedicated to promoting ethical political leadership, democratic cooperation, and global peace. He is also associated with the United Nations Convention against Corruption network, reflecting his longstanding commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity in public life.
Alongside scholarship and governance, Dilip is an author, poet, lyricist, and singer. His books include Dahleez Par Dil (Penguin Random House India), Khulti Girhein, Call Center, Tapki Aur Boondi Ke Laddu, and the bestselling historical novel Gulabi Khanjar. He believes literature and music help societies cultivate empathy and dialogue in ways that public policy alone cannot. His commitment to public service continues through the Radhika Prahlad Foundation, which supports underprivileged patients in accessing healthcare, and Music for All, through which his band, The Fakir Café, performs for socially marginalised communities to promote inclusion through artistic expression. Across scholarship, governance, literature, and public engagement, Dilip's work is guided by a simple conviction: democracy should be judged not only by the governments it elects or the institutions it creates, but also by its capacity to uphold human dignity, strengthen trust, and enable people to flourish together. -
Danielle Mari Panelli

BioDr. Danielle Panelli, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor in Maternal–Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed Ob/Gyn residency training at Harvard (Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Mass General Hospital), and both fellowship training in Maternal–Fetal Medicine and a Masters Degree in Epidemiology and Clinical Research at Stanford.
Dr. Panelli is a clinician–scientist whose work bridges clinical and translational research to understand how stress and mental health shape pregnancy outcomes and postpartum recovery. Her research program focuses on psychobiologic markers of stress—including telomere dynamics and epigenetic aging—to advance precision medicine approaches for perinatal mental illness and pregnancy complications.
Clinically, she cares for routine and high-risk obstetric patients and integrates trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches into care delivery. She is committed to mentorship and education, serves as Director of Research for the Maternal–Fetal Medicine Fellowship, and contributes to national leadership and scholarship in perinatal mental health. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsWe are broadly interested in how the kidneys control salt, water, and electrolyte homeostasis in the body. Our disease focus is on kidney stone disease. We use cultured kidney cells, transgenic mice, human plasma/urine samples, and electronic health record data to study the pathogenesis of kidney stone disease. Our therapeutic focus is on the development of small molecule compounds that can be used for kidney stone prevention.

Victoria Parikh, MD
Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine)
BioDr. Parikh is a clinician scientist who cares for patients with and studies inherited (genetic) cardiovascular disease. She is the director of the Stanford Center for Inherited Cardiovascular Disease (SCICD) which is one of the largest of its kind in the country. SCICD integrates clinical and basic science with the expert care of patients with genetic cardiovascular conditions (e.g., cardiomyopathies, arrhythmias and vascular diseases). It provides cutting edge care for thousands of patients and families across the lifespan and integrates medical, surgical and genetics care. Our team includes physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, genetic counselors, exercise physiologists and scientists.
Dr. Parikh's own clinical practice and laboratory are focused on the genetics of cardiomyopathies and their associated arrhythmogenic substrates. She completed clinical cardiology fellowship at Stanford School of Medicine and her medical residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Funded by multiple research grants from the NIH, her lab seeks to identify novel mechanisms and therapeutic technologies for genetic cardiomyopathy as well as better understand the natural histories of patients affected by these diseases. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsThe goal of our Laboratory is to improve patients’ care and outcomes by analyzing clinical data from thousands of patients treated at our institution. Our current primary areas of interest are benign tumors, brain and spine metastases, and neurogenetic disorders.
Our lab is led by Dr. Steven D. Chang and Dr. David J. Park and proudly hosts talented young clinical scientists from around the world.
