Bio


The Rev. Dr. Colleen Hallagan Preuninger, an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, serves as Associate Dean for Religious & Spiritual Life and Director of Student Engagement. Before her arrival at Stanford in 2019, she served as the United Methodist Ecumenical Chaplain at Syracuse University and in the Office of Spiritual Life at Shenandoah University. A gifted preacher and administrator, Rev. Dr. Hallagan Preuninger brings to Stanford ten years of experience working with young adults in both congregational and multifaith settings. She is an enthusiastic spiritual leader who is passionate about cultivating thoughtful environments for the spiritual formation of students. She holds a B.A. in German Language and Literature from Hamilton College, Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2021.

Rev. Dr. Hallagan Preuninger released her first book, “Campus Ministry: Empowering Congregations to Support Students on College and University Chaplaincies” in May 2020, and has also contributed prayers and devotions to “We Pray With Her: Encouragement for All Women Who Lead” (2018) and “Speaking Truth: Woman Raising their Voices in Prayer” (2020).
