Bio
Colton Crosby is a Ph.D. candidate in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University, where he is a Stanford Robotics Center Scholar. His research asks how learned robotics policies can be made reliable once they leave the lab. Rather than retraining a policy to be safer, he focuses on methods that monitor, predict, and recover from policy failures at deployment time. His interests include safety for locomanipulation, multi-robot collaboration, and fault recovery for learned policies. Before Stanford, Colton worked on spacecraft structural dynamics research and flight-project verification as an academic part-time at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Aeronautics and Astronautics studying how learned robot policies can be made reliable once they leave the lab. Rather than retraining a policy to make it safer, I am interested in methods that monitor a policy as it runs, predict when it is heading toward failure, and recover before that failure occurs. My current interests include safety for locomanipulation, multi-robot collaboration, and fault recovery for learned policies.
