Bio


Dan is the Beam Line Systems Division Director at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL), managing several groups responsible for the facility's operation and upgrade. He has held several roles at SSRL in his 20+ years at the facility, starting as a beamline engineer supporting macromolecular crystallography experiments, progressing to lead the Beamline Development Group for 10+ years, and finally assuming his current position. In his time at SSRL, he acted as project manager for 7 beamline design and installation projects. He was the design authority for a variety of optical systems, including x-ray monochromators, mirrors, and other beamline systems.
