Bio
Daniel Kraft is a Stanford and Harvard trained physician-scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience across clinical practice, biomedical research, and healthcare innovation. His current work follows how artificial intelligence, continuous data, and converging technologies are reshaping prevention, diagnosis, therapy, and the delivery of care.
He earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Brown University and his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, completed the Harvard Combined Residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and went on to fellowships in hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplantation at Stanford and a postdoctoral research fellowship in the laboratory of Irving L. Weissman. He served on clinical faculty at UCSF in pediatric bone marrow transplantation, and as NIH-funded research faculty at Stanford.
His academic research has spanned stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, stem cell derived immunotherapies for cancer, and the bioengineering of human T-cell differentiation, with work published in journals including Nature and Science. He holds medical device, immunology, and stem cell related patents, and is the inventor of the MarrowMiner, an FDA-cleared device for minimally invasive bone marrow harvesting.
Dr. Kraft is the Founder and Chair of NextMed Health (formerly Exponential Medicine), a program and community convening clinicians, technologists, investors, and regulators around the future of medicine, Founder of Digital.Health, a curated platform for evaluating digital health and AI solutions, and Co-Founder and General Partner of Continuum Health Ventures, an early stage fund focused on democratizing health and improving healthspan. He was founding faculty at Singularity University, where he chaired its medicine program.
His current interests center on how foundation models and agentic AI, continuous physiologic data from wearables and connected devices, multi-omics, and low cost diagnostics are moving medicine from episodic and reactive care toward the continuous, personalized, and proactive, and on the gap between what these technologies can demonstrate and what clinical practice, regulation, and reimbursement will adopt. A six time TED and TEDMED speaker who has keynoted on five continents, he advises health systems, biopharma boards, and technology companies on AI and digital health strategy, and is a member of the inaugural class of the Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellowship and of the Kauffman Fellows Society.
