Bio

I am Hung-Hsuan (Dean) Yen, MD, a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and an attending general surgeon in Taiwan. I specialize in upper gastrointestinal surgical oncology, particularly gastric and esophagogastric cancer surgery, with a clinical focus on minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery. My academic interests include surgical data science, surgical video analysis, computer vision, and AI-based assessment of surgical quality, safety, and competency. Since September 2026, I have been visiting Stanford University MARVL for a two-year research visit.
