Bio


As a staff scientist, Franziska provides support to Dr. Maahs (Professor of Pediatrics and Division Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology) for grant and manuscript writing, presentation material development and research protocol development. She provides leadership to the division’s clinical research team and collaborates with internal and external groups and departments in support of clinical research within the division. Franziska has been involved with type 1 diabetes clinical research and project management for 15 years. She has managed type 1 diabetes clinical research studies involving improving standard of care in diabetes management, physical activity patterns, nutrition, psychology, weight loss, cardiovascular risk factors and diabetes technology. Franziska is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), and holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and a certificate in Public Health Sciences.
