Bio

I am a Senior Research Engineer in the Department of Radiology with a background in engineering and computer science, with postdoctoral training in computational neuroscience and in human brain studies using functional MRI. I have over 12 years of experience as a research scientist in both basic and clinical research, including 5 years during which I was a junior research faculty member at Harvard/MGH (Radiology) and a PI on an NIH K01 (mentored scientist) grant.

My current work is centered on applying deep learning techniques to enhance the detection and classification of various cancer types, aiming to improve diagnostic accuracy and clinical outcomes.

I also have over 2 years of experience as the grants manager at a nonprofit organization that awards competitive grants to scientists and scholars. In this role I oversaw grant programs and their review process: inviting expert reviewers, running study section meetings, and participating in funding decisions. Working in this role greatly enhanced my overall understanding of grantmaking, especially from the perspective of a funding organization, and provided me with invaluable insights on how to write successful grants.
