Bio


Jacqueline Genovese holds an MFA in Creative Non-Fiction Writing and a master’s degree in Medical Humanities and the Arts. She is the executive director of the Stanford School of Medicine Medical Humanities and Arts Program (Medicine and the Muse). In concert with the program's founding and current faculty directors, Jacqueline has led the dynamic growth of the program to include numerous opportunities clinical students, trainees, faculty, alumni, patients and community members to explore and participate in the intersection of medicine, science, technology and the arts and humanities. During her tenure, the program has grown to include a Stanford Medicine Chorus and Stanford Medicine Orchestra, a Faculty Fellowship Program in Medical Humanities, a Literature and Medicine Dinner and Discussion Series, Story Rounds: Storytelling by Physicians for Physicians, a War Literature and Writing Seminar, a Health Media Fellowship, an Artist in Residence appointment, the Big Ideas in Medicine Conference, the Frankenstein@200 Conference, Summer Programs in Medical Humanities and Arts, the award winning MedMuse 4 U Newsletter, Apart-together COVID19 Project and Stuck at Home Concert Series, She's been an invited presenter at numerous conferences including at the Sorbonne and the Air Force Academy, Jacqueline's work has been recognized with the Stanford University Amy J. Blue Award, the Stanford School of Medicine Inspiring Change Leadership Award and an Award of Appreciation from the Stanford Undergraduate Veteran's Association.
