Dr. López-Rivera is a Bioinformatician in the Rosen Lab at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health Center for IBD and Celiac Disease. He earned his PhD in 2022 from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. In the Rosen Lab, Dr. López-Rivera focuses on processing, analyzing, and integrating real world patient date with large biological datasets from a number of state-of-the-art high-throughput approaches including transcriptomics, epigenomics, metabolomics, and metagenomics. His work focuses on elucidating the epigenetic and transcriptional changes that underlie epithelial alterations in pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease and how these are recapitulated in patient-derived organoids as well as identifying clinical, metabolic, and metagenetic changes associated with patient response to therapy. He also provides bioinformatic and biostatistical analysis support to the various researchers and physician scientists of the Center. In his free time, Dr. López-Rivera enjoys cooking, taking care of his plants, and making ceramics.
