Konstantinos Ioannis Kostas

Bio

Konstantinos is a political scientist and organizational researcher working on the global governance of AI and institutional norms with additional interest in conceptual history and politics of knowledge. In his postdoctoral research, he is interested in how normative ideas from a specific context are adapted and received in global governance, and how these ideas change over time and across space in organizational fields and contexts, both through concepts and data. Among Konstantinos’ research focuses are institutional theory, international rankings and policy indices, algorithmic governance, and conceptual shifts of human-centricity.

Konstantinos received a master’s degree in political science, including a specialization in public administration and organizational research, and has completed studies in international relations (Sciences Po, Paris) and business technology (Aalto University). He is also a member of the Ideas and Institutions (IDIS) research group at the University of Helsinki. Since 2026, Konstantinos holds a PhD in Politics and Organizations (Political Science) from the University of Helsinki, with a dissertation titled "Human-centricity as a Policy Concept: Paradigmatic Modifications of an Institutional Norm from Automation to AI".
