Krzysztof (Chris) Karbownik is an applied economist who is an associate professor at Emory University. His research is concentrated in three areas: infant and childhood health, family economics, and economics of education. His work was published in leading economics journals such as American Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Human Resources or Economic Journal. It was also featured in press outlets such as New York Times, Wall Street Journal or Washington Post. Karbownik holds a PhD in economics from Uppsala University (2013), MAs in both economics and quantitative methods from Warsaw School of Economics (2008), and a BA in quantitative methods from Warsaw School of Economics (2008). He is affiliated with CESifo (Germany), Centre for Economic Analysis (Poland), IZA (Germany), and NBER (USA). Outside of academia, he is an avid skier, mountain biker, and mountaineer.
