Laura brings several years of experience to her role at the Department of Economics. She has vast professional and academic experience and has also worked for several Fortune 500 companies. Laura arrived at Stanford as a student spouse and immediately fell in love with life on campus. She worked for Stanford's RDE at Escondido Village and Munger, and then as coordinator of programs for spouses and international families at Stanford’s Bechtel International Center. She also worked as the Business Administrator at the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) for over 7 years. Laura is now enjoying her role at the Department of Economics, as a member of the Introductory Economics Center (IEC). Laura has taught Spanish classes at the Bechtel International Center to Stanford students, spouses and other affiliates. She graduated with honors from La Salle University in Mexico City and holds a B.A. in business administration, she also speaks three languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese. Prior to joining Stanford; Laura worked for a high-tech company in Silicon Valley, building business relationships with corporate clients throughout Latin America.
