Bio


Merna Morcos is a student at the University of California, Berkeley with aspirations of becoming a neurosurgeon. She conducts stroke research at Stanford Medicine's Department of Neurosurgery / VA Palo Alto, where she contributes to research aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of neurological disorders. Merna is the founder of LeadLaser, an award-winning project focused on making lead testing in drinking water more affordable and accessible. She currently serves as the Associate Zone Councilor and Chair for Zone 18 of the Society of Physics Students National Council and has held leadership roles across multiple student organizations. Through research, clinical shadowing, hospital and hospice volunteering, and community service, she is committed to improving patient care, advancing neuroscience, and making a meaningful impact in medicine.
