Bio


Nil Sifre Tomas was born and grew up in Barcelona, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Pompeu Fabra University. He then continued his legal education at the University of Oxford.

After graduating, he clerked for the Public Prosecutor's Office in Barcelona, and then he went on to private practice in the law firm Cuatrecasas for three years. He has practiced law in Brussels, Madrid, Buenos Aires, and Barcelona. He is a member of the Spanish Bar and he passed the New York Bar Exam.

At Stanford, he graduated with a J.S.M. (LL.M.) in 2020 and is now a J.S.D. candidate (doctoral program in Law). He received a Fulbright Scholarship and a "la Caixa" Fellowship, and he has been a Bradley Student Fellow at the Constitutional Law Center at Stanford. He is married and enjoys soccer and skiing.
