Bio

Perla Miranda García, Assistant Director of Scholar Funding for Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS)

Perla received her BA in Politics and Latin American and Latino Studies from UC Santa Cruz, MA in Latin American Studies from UT Austin, and her Master of Public Administration from San José State University. Perla has over 15 years of cumulative experience in student services from positions at the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), the University of Texas at Austin, the University of California at Santa Cruz, and Stanford University. In all these roles, she has used her own experience as a first-generation college graduate to help students navigate academic systems and advise a diverse student population. In her free time, Perla enjoys watching movies, going to concerts and music festivals, hiking to lakes and waterfalls, and playing rummikub.
