Peter Manoleas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 40 years’ experience in mental health and substance abuse as a clinician, administrator, and educator. He is emeritus faculty at the UC Berkeley, School of Social Welfare, having retired from the full time faculty in 2012. Manoleas has consulted widely, including to the (former) California Department of Mental Health, the (former) Mental Health Services Act Oversight and Accountability Commission, The California Endowment, and the UCSF Department of Psychiatry. He is the 2012 recipient of the California Wellness Foundation’s “Champion of Health Professions Diversity” award. He has authored or co-authored 13 refereed journal articles and book chapters, 1 edited book, and 3 curricular manuals in the areas pf mental health, substance abuse, and social work pedagogy., Manoleas has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the California Board of Behavioral Sciences on which he served from 2002-2006, the last year as Chair. He currently maintains a part-time practice.
