Rev. Dr. Zandra L. Jordan is Director of the Hume Center for Writing and Speaking. A trained rhetorician and ordained Baptist minister, she holds a B.A. in English from Spelman College, a M.A.T in English from Brown University, a MDiv from Emory University's Candler School of Theology, and a PhD in English and Education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to joining the Stanford community, Zandra was the founding director of the Center for Academic Literacy at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, and also served as Minister of Adult Christian Education at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. She now leads THRIVE Women's Ministry at University AME Zion Church in Palo Alto and serves on the teaching team. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Second Vice President of the San Francisco-Peninsula Alumnae Chapter.
