Bio

I am Deaf and grew up with ASL as my primary language. I have taught ASL in postsecondary settings and worked closely with students as they build language skills and cultural awareness for well over a decade. I recently completed an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at San Francisco State University, with research utilizing a phenomenological approach to examine the experiences of signing Deaf faculty in California. I grew up in Santa Cruz County, where I still reside, and I cherish ongoing engagement with both ASL students and the Deaf Community as part of my professional work. My interests include ASL education, Deaf culture, and strengthening inclusion and access in public and academic environments. Outside of teaching, I enjoy camping with friends, taking on home renovation projects, and spending time with my family, including our two canine companions.
