Bio

Axel Brachmann works at SLAC since 2000. He is a member of the Accelerator Directorate, leading a group of physicists, engineers and technicians who are responsible to develop and operate SLACs accelerator systems. For a significant time of his career at SLAC his responsibility was to ensure optimum performance of the injectors of SLAC's linear accelerator facility. Recently, he led the commissioning of the new superconducting accelerator that is the backbone of SLAC's LCLS-II Free Electron Laser.
