I am a Swedish Research Council postdoctoral researcher at Stockholm Resilience Center, Stockholm University and a postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Iberian and Latin American Cultures, Stanford University, participating in the Focal Group materia (July 2022-July 2024). I lead the 36-month international postdoc project “Multispecies Futuring. Biocultural diversity in Latin American and Caribbean future fictions”. Multispecies Futuring deals with future-making practices involving multispecies worlds in Latin American and Caribbean future fictions from the end of the twentieth century, when biodiversity loss entered global environmental discourses, to works inspired in the present COVID 19 zoonotic pandemic. By combining feminist posthumanism, literary studies, indigenous philosophy, and environmental humanities in a transdisciplinary framework, my project investigates relations of future fictions from Latin America with the biodiversity crisis and with biocultural rights. This projects seeks to decenter Western future imagination by foregrounding diverging environmental futures. I am currently postdoc co-coordinator of the DLCL research unit materia.
