Beth McKeown

Bio

Beth McKeown originally came to Stanford in 2002 seeking her MA at the School of Education, with prior experience in public school teaching in the Sacramento and San Diego regions. She obtained her MA in Education in 2003 and embarked upon a career in higher education administration. Her professional experience led her into student affairs at The Graduate School at Princeton University and at Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.

With her East Coast experience, she headed west again, returning to Stanford. She has held the positions of Student Services Officer in Biomedical Informatics in the School of Medicine, Student Services Manager in the Department of Psychology, Assistant Dean for Academic and Curricular Support in the School of Humanities & Sciences Dean’s Office, and Director of Finance and Operations in the Department of Theater and Performance Studies. While at Stanford, she has served in voluntary capacities on judicial affairs panels, as a pre-major advisor, and as a career connections mentor. She has volunteered in the Bay Area with Project Read – Menlo Park, and BUILD at Sequoia High School in Redwood City.

Current Role at Stanford

Beth is the Senior Director of Community Engagement Operations in the Office of Community Engagement. She responsible for operational and staffing functions that support community and campus activities to drive more purposeful engagement with the communities Stanford touches. Her position leads the development and execution of effective operational functions, expands administrative relationships, and collaborates with Stanford’s Office of External Relations and other university offices.
