Ph.D. Student in Petroleum Engineering
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research and study interests are related to optimization techniques in general and their role in solving a wide variety of reservoir engineering problems. They range from field development strategies, such as well placement and well settings optimization, to reservoir monitoring tasks, such as history matching and related data assimilation stages associated to real-time simulation and optimization, also known as "closed-loop" reservoir modeling. I am also interested in addressing static, dynamics and/or operational uncertainties through the optimization of multiple model realizations or similar approaches.
Jose Urteaga Augier
Ph.D. Student in Environment and Resources
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsJose Urteaga research centers on the governance and sustainable management of marine natural resources in developing countries. Particularly he is interested in understanding how social and institutional arrangements interact to manage diverse habitats and species and how these arrangements are affected by contextual and historical factors. Currently, he is focusing on sea turtle conservation in Nicaragua and El Salvador.
