Avery Sun
Postdoctoral Scholar, Materials Science and Engineering
BioAvery Sun is a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford Cardiovascular Institute and Department of Materials Science and Engineering with research interest in extracellular matrix biology, mechanobiology, cardiac fibrosis, biomaterials, and tissue engineering. Prior to this appointment, Avery received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from National University of Singapore, focusing on matrix- and mechanobiology-mediated mesenchymal drift and rejuvenation of cardiac fibroblasts in aging and diseases.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsI develop geometric representations and generative models that help robots understand and act in the 3D world. My research spans point cloud registration, shape assembly, spatial reasoning, and compositional planning. I am particularly interested in world-action models that connect perception and prediction with robot planning and control.
