Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy lab is deeply interested in understand how living cells sense and respond to mechanical stimuli.
Lecturer, Chemical Engineering
BioMelis Duyar is an Associate Staff Scientist at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in the SUNCAT Center for Interface Science and Catalysis, and Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Stanford University. Her research interests focus on the development of novel catalytic materials for energy and environmental applications. Her primary research directions deal with the production of sustainable fuels and chemicals from carbon based feedstocks, including the conversion of syngas to higher alcohols and thermochemical reduction of carbon dioxide to valuable products. Dr. Duyar received her M.S. (2013) and Ph.D. (2015) in Earth and Environmental Engineering from Columbia University and conducted post-doctoral research in the Chemical Engineering Department at Stanford University.
