Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy primary interest and role at Stanford is to evaluate and treat children with both systemic and organ specific autoimmune disease. In October of 2012, we started a multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to treating patients with PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndromes). I am currently the clinical and research director for the PANS program.

Siva Kasinathan

BioSiva Kasinathan, MD, PhD is a Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Rheumatology at the Stanford University School of Medicine and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. His graduate research in the MD-PhD program at the University of Washington included the innovation of genome-scale methods for chromatin profiling and generated new insights in centromere biology and gene regulation. During his clinical training in pediatrics at Stanford, Siva continued develop genomic technologies, this time with a focus on single-molecule sequencing. Siva’s research interests span genetics, epigenomics, and immune dysregulation. His ongoing work with Dr. Ansu Satpathy involves developing and applying sensitive new methods for analyzing immunogenetic variation in lupus. As a physician-scientist, Siva is committed combining clinical medicine and basic and translational research to better understand the molecular mechanisms of autoimmunity and autoinflammation to improve outcomes for patients with rheumatic diseases.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsThe major emphasis of my work in the past 2 decades has been focused on the future of academic pediatrics and pediatric rheumatology through providing training, research opportunities and environments to nurture and challenge future pediatric rheumatologists and subspecialists. In parallel in the last decade, my scope has included to workforce and physician wellbring, patient and family centered care--and more recently, diversity, equity and inclusion, and health equity.

BioNoelle is a Research Data Analyst for the Immune Behavioral Health Clinic / research team. She applies her expertise in statistics and bioinformatics to investigate genetic components of Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS).
Noelle holds a master's degree in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from the University of Kansas.
