BioKyna (pronounced kee-nuh) Byrd has a Masters in Laboratory Animal Science from Stanford University and is currently working as a breeding colony manager as well as an animal welfare specialist for the veterinarian service center. Their research focus is on animal behavior and welfare, and refining the ways we care for biomedical research animals to improve experimental translation and reproducibility.
Kyna is a certified Laboratory Animal Technologist (RLATG) and has over a decade of animal husbandry experience with countless species in biomedical research, zoos, wildlife rehabilitation, and animal shelters, as well as many years of teaching and public speaking experience.
