    BioIn 2014 I received my BS in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, where I majored in power electronics and signals. During my undergraduate, I served as the Team Captain of the ETSEIB Formula Student team, where I helped develop the first electric vehicle for the school. After graduating, I went on to obtain an MS from the Electrical & Computer Engineering department at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. There, I joined the Center for Bioinformatics and Genomic Systems Engineering, where I was involved in several computational genomics research projects under Dr. Aniruddha Datta. In 2015, I was awarded the “la Caixa” fellowship to pursue research in computational biology during my Ph.D. as a member of the Goutsias lab, developing computational methods to study epigenetic signatures in close collaboration with the Feinberg lab of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In addition to my research and Ph.D. coursework, I earned an MS focused on statistical learning from the Applied Mathematics & Statistics department at Johns Hopkins University in 2018. After successfully defending my dissertation entitled “Statistical Signal Processing Methods for Epigenetic Landscape Analysis” on May 10 of 2021, I joined Salzman’s lab at Stanford University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow being awarded the postdoctoral fellowship from the Center for Computational, Evolutionary and Human Genomics.

    BioI’m a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Biomedical Data Sciences at Stanford University. I’m currently an Associate Member of the Human Pan Reference Genome Project and the coordinator for the HLA working group of the Clinical Genome Resource. Previously, I was at the University of Michigan, where I did my PhD in Anthropology.

    My primary research interests are to investigate how natural selection shapes human populations–particularly how infectious disease shapes the genome. By incorporating an evolutionary framework, we can better understand modern health and disease. I am working on detecting regions of the genome that have undergone selection in Mesoamerican populations, and expanding that work to medical relevance today. I am currently working on various HLA related projects, Dengue, and on COVID-19.

    BioZhi Huang received his Bachelor of Science degree in Automation (BS--MS straight entrance class) from Xi'an Jiaotong University School of Electronic and Information Engineering in June 2015. In August 2021, He received a Ph.D. degree from Purdue University, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).
    His background is in the area of Machine and Deep Learning, Computational Pathology, Computational Biology, and Bioinformatics.
    From May 2019 to August 2019, he was at Philips Research North America as a Research Intern.

    BioDr. Alexander Ioannidis (Ph.D., M.Phil) earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University in Computational and Mathematical Engineering, where he teaches machine learning and data science as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Engineering. He also has an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering (Optimization) from Stanford. Prior to Stanford, he worked in superconducting computing logic and quantum computing at Northrop Grumman. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University in Chemistry and Physics and earned an M.Phil from the Department of Applied Math and Theoretical Physics in Computational Biology, and Diploma in Greek, from the University of Cambridge. As a current research fellow in the Stanford School of Medicine, Department of Biomedical Data Science his work focuses on the design of algorithms and application of computational methods for problems in genomics, clinical data science, and precision health with a particular focus on underrepresented populations in Oceania and Latin America.

    BioMy research interests primarily lie in two parts: 1) understanding genetic architecture of complex diseases and traits, and 2) clinical implementation of human genetics discoveries, for example, pharmacogenomics. I received my Ph.D. degree in Genomics and Computational Biology from University of Pennsylvania. My dissertation focused on identifying complex trait or disease-associated genes via genomic regulation-informed gene-based analyses. I am now a postdoctoral fellow in the Klein Lab (PharmGKB group). I am currently working on the Pharmacogenomics Clinical Annotation Tool (PharmCAT), a one-stop bioinformatics tool that analyzes pharmacogenomics variants from genotypic datasets and generates reports with genotype-based prescribing recommendations to supports clinical pharmacogenomics implementations and treatment decisions.

    BioDaniel Mas Montserrat holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Previously he graduated summa cum laude from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Audiovisual Systems in Telecommunications Engineering. Currently, he is a research fellow at the Stanford School of Medicine (Department of Biomedical Data Science). His research focuses on applying computational methods to problems in population genetics and biomedicine.
