Current Research and Scholarly InterestsOur group uses molecular biology, biochemistry, and cellular immunology to investigate the activation and effector function of T lymphocytes. Research in the laboratory is currently focused on three areas: granulysin, a lytic molecule expressed late (7-12 days) after T cell activation; identification of correlates of immunity in diseases such as tuberculosis; and tolerance. The long term goal of this work is to develop new ways to treat human disease.

Trainer, Stanford Nano Shared Facilities Service CenterBioI am a chemical engineer advancing photopolymerization chemistry, fluid mechanics, and materials science to enable fabrication strategies once thought impossible. Pioneered injection Continuous Liquid Interface Production (iCLIP), using active resin chemistry and fluid–optical coupling to achieve order-of-magnitude gains in 3D printing speed and resolution, and translated chemical control of reactive interfaces into free-form microfluidic microneedle systems for intradermal delivery of small molecules, biologics, and mRNA. Current research applies water-soluble biocompatible sacrificial resins and projection-based fabrication workflows to design and print high-resolution, perfusable microvascular architectures for integration into 3D tissue patches.

BioCobbinah Bernard Mawuli is a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine, School of Medicine. He is passionate about the intersection of AI and medicine, focusing on developing robust and effective approaches for preventive and predictive healthcare. His research aims to deepen the understanding of high-dimensional multi-omics medical data using advanced machine learning techniques. By exploring innovative ways to analyze this data, his work contributes to improved treatments and enhanced patient care. Through the analysis of large patient datasets, his goal is to create tools that empower clinicians to make more informed decisions, ultimately improving healthcare outcomes for all.
Prior to joining Stanford, he pioneered robust federated learning techniques for evolving data streams and developed methods to reduce multi-center MRI variability in diagnosing brain disorders. -

- Investigating mechanisms of tau-related neurodegeneration in human brain
