I have vast leadership experience in applied research from the Hi-Tech Industry and I'm former VP R&D of a medical startup in the Cardiology domain.
My Research Interests are Deep Learning (DL) for Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Recommender Systems for the Health care domain

Biostatistician 1, Stanford-Surgery Policy Improvement Research and Education Center
BioKate is a biostatistician with the Stanford-Surgery Policy Improvement Research & Education Center (S-SPIRE). She has a degree in epidemiology and has worked in both academic and public health settings. She has particular experience working with Medicaid claims data and analyzing patient reported health outcomes. Kate collaborates with Department of Surgery researchers on study design, data analysis, and reporting.
Associate Professor of Surgery (Vascular Surgery) at the Stanford University Medical Center
BioShipra Arya, MD SM FACS is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine and section chief of vascular surgery at VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. She has a Master’s degree in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health with focus on research methodology and cardiovascular epidemiology. She completed her General Surgery Residency at Creighton University Medical Center followed by a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at University of Michigan. She has been funded by American Heart Association (AHA), NIH/NIA GEMSSTAR grant, VA Palo Alto Center for Innovation and Implementation (Ci2i) and is currently funded by VA HSR&D. The accumulated evidence from her research all points to the fact that frailty is a versatile tool that can be utilized to guide surgical decision making, inform patient consent and design quality improvement initiatives at the patient and hospital level. The field of frailty research in surgical population is still relatively nascent and her current work focuses on streamlining frailty evaluation, and implementation of patient and system level interventions to improve surgical outcomes and enhance patient centered care.

BioAuriel August MD is a general surgery resident at Stanford Hospital passionate about problem solving. She received her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University concentrating in biomechanics and biomaterials. While at Duke she spent 5 years improving deep brain stimulation for treatment of Parkinson's disease and essential tremor. She went on to earn her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School where she was selected to the medical education scholar tract. While in residency she received training in medical device development as a Stanford-Byers Center Biodesign Innovation Fellow during which time Dr. August co-founded The Aquarius Lab, a medical device incubator. Dr. August plans to build a career using technology and design to close gaps in healthcare delivery worldwide.
Jennifer Avise, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Surgery - Vascular Surgery
BioDr. Avise is a board-certified vascular surgeon specializing in cutting edge treatments of vascular disease. She is a clinical assistant professor in the Department Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine.
She has helped to expand access to expert vascular surgery in the East Bay, establishing Stanford Health Care’s first vascular surgery practices at the medical center in Emeryville and at the Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare hospital in Pleasanton. Dr. Avise serves as the medical director of the Pleasanton vascular laboratory, an IAC accredited facility, where she advances developments in noninvasive testing to aid in early diagnosis of vascular disease.
Her focus is on early detection and disease prevention, minimally invasive (endovascular) techniques, and complex open surgery. She treats a wide variety of conditions, including aortic aneurysm, limb salvage, varicose veins, peripheral vascular disease, carotid disease, complex wound care, and dialysis access.
