Albert J. Wong, M.D.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsOur goal is to define targets for cancer therapeutics by identifying alterations in signal transduction proteins. We first identified a naturally occurring mutant EGF receptor (EGFRvIII) and then delineated its unique signal transduction pathway. This work led to the identification of Gab1 followed by the discovery that JNK is constitutively active in tumors. We intiated using altered proteins as the target for vaccination, where an EGFRvIII based vaccine appears to be highly effective.

Becky Wong
Clinical Associate Professor, Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine
BioDr. Becky Wong is board certified in adult and pediatric anesthesiology and practices anesthesiology at Stanford University Hospitals and Clinics and The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Stanford, California. She received her medical school degree at The University of California at San Diego and her anesthesia residency and pediatric anesthesia fellowship training at Stanford. She provides anesthesia care for a wide range of ages with a focus on neuroanesthesia. She co-chairs the Neuroanesthesia Special Interest Group in the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia. As an Associate Director for Quality Improvement in the Stanford Anesthesia Department, she has a deep interest in improving patient care.

Cynthia Wong
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Cynthia Wong is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Nephrology. Her research and clinical focus are improving outcomes in children with chronic kidney disease. She is involved in the neurocognitive work group with the Chronic Kidney Disease in Children study with a special interest in supplemental school . She is involved in several quality improvement initiatives including the Standardizing Care to Improve Outcomes in Pediatric End Stage Kidney Disease (SCOPE) and has supported the dialysis team in several quality improvement projects that were presented at the Annual Dialysis Conference.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research interest is focused on investigating the molecular networks that underlie cancer stem cells and designing therapies that selectively target these cells, thereby eliminating a cancer's potential for regrowth.

BioH.-S. Philip Wong is the Willard R. and Inez Kerr Bell Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University. He joined Stanford University as Professor of Electrical Engineering in 2004. From 1988 to 2004, he was with the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. From 2018 to 2020, he was on leave from Stanford and was the Vice President of Corporate Research at TSMC, the largest semiconductor foundry in the world, and since 2020 remains the Chief Scientist of TSMC in a consulting, advisory role.
He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the IEEE. He received the IEEE Andrew S. Grove Award, the IEEE Technical Field Award to honor individuals for outstanding contributions to solid-state devices and technology, as well as the IEEE Electron Devices Society J.J. Ebers Award, the society’s highest honor to recognize outstanding technical contributions to the field of electron devices that have made a lasting impact.
He is the Principal Investigator of the Microelectronics Commons California-Pacific-Northwest AI Hardware Hub, a consortium of over 60 companies and academic institutions funded by the CHIPS Act. He was a member of the US Department of Commerce Industrial Advisory Committee on microelectronics. He serves on the Executive Committee of the UC Berkeley think tank Technology Competitiveness and Industrial Policy (TCIP) Center. -
