Ryunosuke (Ryan) Goto

BioRyunosuke (Ryan) Goto is a PhD student in Biomedical Data Science and a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. Prior to Stanford, Ryan was a Chief Resident in Pediatrics at Nagano Children's Hospital and the University of Tokyo Hospital. He is working with Prof. Robert Tibshirani and Prof. Jonathan K. Pritchard to develop and apply statistical tools to investigate gene regulatory networks in human traits. Ryan’s work has been published in The Lancet, JAMA Pediatrics, and Pediatrics, among other journals.

Andrea Grassi

BioAndrea Grassi is a Ph.D. Candidate in Financial Market Law at Luiss University, where he also serves as Teaching Fellow, and an incoming LL.M. candidate at Stanford Law School (Class of 27). His research focuses on AIFs regulation, banking regulation, M&A agreements and contract law and economics. His works on these topics have been published or are forthcoming in law reviews and he has presented his research at international conferences. He holds a Master’s Degree in Law summa cum laude from Sapienza University and has been an exchange student at the University of Hamburg and a visiting student at Columbia Law School, where he conducted research for his thesis. He was awarded the “Felice Gianani” Scholarship by the Italian Banking Association to attend Stanford Law School, the Bank of Italy “Donato Menichella” Fellowship and the Fondazione Italia-USA “Premio America Giovani.”

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy PhD research focuses on developing predictive models for geothermal systems. I am interested in direct predictions of the future performance of geothermal reservoirs as well as characterization of the subsurface flow behavior that can aid in operational decision making. Currently, I am incorporating principles from statistics and artificial intelligence into workflows that can be used for production and injection optimization.
