Zhelong Jiang
Assoc Scientist-Battery Center, Energy Sciences
BioDr. Zhelong Jiang is an Associate Scientist at SLAC-Stanford Battery Center, Applied Energy Division, SLAC.
He specializes in materials chemistry, with a focus on inorganic materials synthesis and processing, advanced characterization of materials, and materials for battery and other energy-related applications.
His research interests include: (1) the production, processing, and recovery of functional or critical materials using approaches including solid-state, hydro/solvothermal, and electrochemical methods; (2) understand and control chemical processes using in situ, operando, and in-line characterization methods; (3) develop analytical methods to unravel the atomic structure of materials and its correlation with the physical and chemical properties, with a particular focus on X-ray-based methods; (4) materials for battery and energy-related applications, in particular electrodes for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, solid-state electrolytes, and other emerging battery technology and electrochemical systems; (5) rapid and semi-automated materials prediction and discovery by combining rapid synthesis, in situ characterization, computational materials science, and AI-integration. -
Wei-Sheng Lee
Lead Scientist, Energy Sciences
BioDr. Lee is a staff scientist at SLAC National Accelerator Lab and a PI at the Stanford Institute of Materials and Energy Sciences (SIMES) at SLAC. His research interest is to understand and control collective behaviors in quantum materials by using and developing x-ray techniques, including x-ray/photoemission spectroscopy, resonant/non-resonant inelastic x-ray scattering and time-resolved x-ray scattering using synchrotron radiation light source and x-ray free-electron laser.

Yu Lin
Staff Scientist, Energy Sciences
BioDr. Lin is a staff scientist at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and a PI at the Stanford Institute for Materials and Energy Sciences (SIMES) at SLAC. Her research centers on utilizing a suite of in situ probes, particularly X-ray tools, to understand the behavior of complex materials under extreme conditions. These materials find applications in a wide range of technologies essential for a sustainable energy future. Recently, integrating artificial intelligence tools has become one of her new research endeavors, further advancing the study.
