In my role as service manager I work with librarians, faculty, donors, and archivists to develop policies, workflows and procedures to acquire, preserve, and make born digital content available for researchers. This includes managing a budget to acquire lab technologies for our digital archivists and working with my Stanford colleagues to develop a catalog of services to support library acquisitions (see https://library.stanford.edu/research/digitization-services/labs/born-digital-forensics-lab). Current projects that are in process include implementation of the BitCurator Bulk Extractor in our production workflows, defining our security policies and audit processes for acquired content and automating the process for depositing our preserved software into the Stanford Digital Repository. -

Marily Oppezzo
Senior Research Scholar, Medicine - Med/Stanford Prevention Research Center
BioDr. Oppezzo is an Instructor of Medicine at the Stanford Prevention Research Center and head of the nutrition pillar at Stanford Lifestyle Medicine. She is a behavioral and learning scientist, dietitian, and exercise science interventionist. She earned her PhD in Educational Psychology from Stanford University, and holds a Master’s degree in Nutritional Science, and is board certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional.
Dr. Oppezzo's work combines her extensive training in nutrition, exercise science, and behavioral science to develop innovative interventions that empower individuals to adopt sustainable, healthy habits - integrating them into their already busy lives. With a focus on "minimal dose, maximal gains" she explores the best ways for people to adopt small, actionable changes for significant improvements in health and well-being. She is particularly interested in the impact of "exercise snacks"—short, accessible bouts of physical activity—on productivity, mood, and overall health. One of her key interventions, "Stronger," is designed to provide peri- and post-menopausal women with effective strength training that maximizes benefits while minimizing time commitment. -

BioI am currently a student at the University of California, Santa Cruz, concentrating on Bio Medicine within the context of Global and Community Health.
My experience includes volunteering and administrative work at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, teaching roles with children, helping to create sustainable food systems in my community through the UCSC Center for Agroecology, and engaging in Parkinson’s research in the Schuele Lab. Health. I am proficient in both English and Spanish, using both languages in professional and informal settings. I am eager to embrace all opportunities that come my way.
Throughout my coursework and lab experiences, I have gained proficiency in various skills including bacteriophage isolation, antibiotic resistance mechanisms and assays, culture plating E. coli, determining bacterial cell counts, bioremediation techniques, gel electrophoresis, spectrophotometry, PCR, utilizing literature search tools, analyzing primary and review literature, navigating the UCSC genome browser, performing Blastn searches, using ApE for sequence analysis, and presenting primary literature effectively. -
