BioDr. Kim Reuter is an expert in environmental sustainability, climate change, and international development/diplomacy. With a PhD in Biology from Temple University (Philadelphia, PA), Kim is an author on almost 100 peer-reviewed publications and books, and has more than 15 years of hands-on experience in international climate and sustainability expertise gained at the World Bank, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, World Wide Fund for Nature, and Conservation International. Kim has worked in more than 20 African countries throughout her career as British diplomat and for regional non-governmental organisations and has taught at the university level on subjects related to climate change, ecology, and biology. Kim is a 2016 National Geographic Explorer and 2020 Churchill Fellow.

I support condensed phase chemistry experiments at LCLS with a focus on hard and tender X-ray spectroscopies. I also work to develop research that applies hard and tender X-ray spectroscopic techniques to understanding enzymatic catalysis and studying ultrafast dynamics in inorganic and organic chromophores relevant for solar energy conversion and photocatalysis.
