Teddy J. Akiki, MD

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Akiki's research focuses on advancing precision psychiatry through computational neuroscience approaches. His work centers on developing transformer-based foundation models for functional neuroimaging that can predict treatment responses and symptom trajectories in psychiatric disorders. Using multimodal connectomics (combining structural, functional, and diffusion MRI), he maps neural circuits underlying stress-related conditions, with particular emphasis on identifying dysconnectivity patterns in PTSD and depression. Dr. Akiki develops novel analytical methods for neuroimaging data, including network-restricted metrics and community detection frameworks optimized for functional time series. His translational work includes neuroimaging-augmented clinical trials of novel therapeutics for treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders, with the goal of implementing data-driven, personalized interventions based on individual neurobiological profiles.

Chidi Akusobi

BioDr. Chidi Akusobi is a physician-scientist completing dual fellowship training in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Informatics at Stanford University School of Medicine. He holds an MD and a PhD in Microbiology from Harvard Medical School and completed internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. His research sits at the intersection of AI and infectious diseases, with a focus on developing and evaluating AI-enabled tools that strengthen infectious disease practice. Current project interests include clinical decision support for infection prevention and control, AI-backed electronic consultation for infectious diseases, and the application of ChatEHR to ID-specific chart review.

BioI am a Medical Doctor and Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Stanford University, working in the Department of Dermatology and the Stanford Center for Digital Health under the mentorship of Dr. Eleni Linos. I previously trained as a Clinical Research Fellow in Wound Healing and Hidradenitis Suppurativa at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology.
My research interests include the use of artificial intelligence, digital health, and emerging technologies in dermatology; inflammatory skin diseases, with a particular focus on hidradenitis suppurativa; wound healing; venereology; and the role of metabolic health and environmental exposures in skin disease.
