Current Research and Scholarly InterestsJosheena's community-engaged research focuses on small-scale fisheries, disaster impacts and recovery, marine protected area management, and the valorization of natural and cultural heritage in ocean governance. She has a keen interest in understanding people-ocean connections and how that influences pro-ecological behavior and local environmental stewardship.

Himaja Nagireddy

BioHimaja Nagireddy (she/her) is a PhD student in Health Policy at Stanford. She previously served as a Program Manager at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, an affiliate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, in Baltimore, MD.
Prior to this, Himaja served as the Deputy Associate Policy Director for First Lady Dr. Jill Biden at the White House, Briefings Manager for the Harris-Walz campaign, and Research Fellow at the CDC’s Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). She also served as the 11th Youth Observer to the UN from 2022-23. Himaja graduated with an MS in Environmental Epidemiology and a concentration in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2022, and her bachelor’s degrees in Physiology and Neurobiology, Molecular and Cell Biology, and Sociology from the University of Connecticut in 2020. -
Bob Nagler
Staff Scientist, LCLS - Linac Coherent Light Source
BioBob Nagler is a scientist and principal investigator at the Matter in Extreme Conditions (MEC) endstation of the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. His research focuses on high energy density physics, warm dense matter, dense plasmas, and shock physics, with an emphasis on X-ray free-electron laser and synchrotron diagnostics, including inelastic X-ray scattering, for probing matter under extreme conditions.
Dr. Nagler has served as principal investigator on numerous experiments at LCLS and the European XFEL, leading large international research teams, and supervises graduate student research at Stanford University. In 2015, Dr. Nagler received the John Dawson Award for Excellence in Plasma Physics Research for work on isochoric heating and ionization potential depression. The imaging and phase-imaging diagnostic techniques Dr. Nagler developed are now used at X-ray free-electron laser facilities conducting high energy density science, including the European XFEL HED instrument. -

Clinical Professor (By courtesy), NeurosurgeryCurrent Research and Scholarly InterestsI'm a board certified neuro-oncologist who treats both primary brain tumors as well as metastatic disease to the brain and nervous system. My research concentrates on clinical trials for patients with late-stage central nervous system cancer. I have a special interest in leptomeningeal disease, a devastating complication of lung and breast cancers. I collaborate with Stanford scientists to detect this disease earlier, and with our breast and lung oncologists to improve outcomes for patients.
