BioMarcio Santos is a distinguished scholar at Stanford University's School of Engineering (3SL), where he delves into energy applications in agriculture (Food, Fiber and Fuel). His research zeroes in studying governing elements in decision making, required infrastructure for interventions and understanding how decision-making processes affect sustainability, and demand-side data analytics.

Since 2019, he has taken on the role of Managing Partner at a Family Office Fund, focusing on developing sustainable solutions for agriculture (food, fiber and fuel systems), and health (orthopedics). Additionally, he is a Board Member at the Center for Innovation in Agriculture (CIAg) in Brazil, further highlighting his commitment to advancing sustainable production systems. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsWe study cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune-mediated injury in CNS tissues that are affected in multiple sclerosis (MS). We study: 1) tissues of mice with EAE using histology and immunohistochemistry, 2) cross-recognition of neurons by antibodies against myelin proteolipid protein epitopes, and a distinct oligodendrogliopathy induced in mice by the non-protein amino acid azetidine (Aze), (which is found in the human diet); Aze-induced abnormalities mimic those in MS patient CNS tissues
