Audra Horomanski
Clinical Associate Professor, Medicine - Immunology & Rheumatology
BioDr. Horomanski specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatologic diseases. She received her undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University, medical degree from Wright State University, and completed her Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship at Stanford University. She is the Director of the Stanford Vasculitis Clinic where she manages the complex care of patients with all types of vasculitis and works closely with partners in related specialties. She has a specific interest in clinical trials and a Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology and Clinical Research. Dr. Horomanski also received training in musculoskeletal ultrasound from the USSONAR program and is an integral part of Stanford's Diagnostic and Interventional Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Clinic. Additional areas of research include the application of ultrasound in the study and management of rheumatologic diseases.

Ariel Horowitz

BioAriel Horowitz is a graduate student in Comparative Literature, focusing on Jewish literature and the ways in which twentieth-century Jewish writers, both Israeli and American, understand History. He holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Philosophy from the Hebrew University, and an M.A. (Summa Cum Laude) from the Hebrew University, where he wrote his thesis about Gershom Scholem's influence on Yaakov Shabtai's magnum opus, Past Continuous. Other interests include political theology, literary theory and continental philosophy. Ariel is also a novelist: his debut novel, Our Finest, was published with Keter Publishing House in 2021.

Mark Horowitz
Fortinet Founders Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Yahoo! Founders Professor in the School of Engineering, Professor of Computer Science, and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution
BioProfessor Horowitz initially focused on designing high-performance digital systems by combining work in computer-aided design tools, circuit design, and system architecture. During this time, he built a number of early RISC microprocessors, and contributed to the design of early distributed shared memory multiprocessors. In 1990, Dr. Horowitz took leave from Stanford to help start Rambus Inc., a company designing high-bandwidth memory interface technology. After returning in 1991, his research group pioneered many innovations in high-speed link design, and many of today’s high speed link designs are designed by his former students or colleagues from Rambus.
In the 2000s he started a long collaboration with Prof. Levoy on computational photography, which included work that led to the Lytro camera, whose photographs could be refocused after they were captured.. Dr. Horowitz's current research interests are quite broad and span using EE and CS analysis methods to problems in neuro and molecular biology to creating new agile design methodologies for analog and digital VLSI circuits. He remains interested in learning new things, and building interdisciplinary teams. -
Kimberly Horstman
Clinical Associate Professor, Pediatrics
BioI came late to medicine, entering medical school after a career editing children's educational books. After graduating from USC Keck School of Medicine and completing my residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, I worked briefly in the outpatient setting, and then started my career as a Pediatric Hospitalist in 2006. Since 2016, I have functioned primarily as a Neonatal Hospitalist at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA, taking care of well newborns and Level 2 and 3 NICU patients, as well as attending deliveries and performing newborn procedures.

Felix Janos Horvath

BioI'm an Austrian medical student at Heidelberg University and, since March 2026, a Visiting Student Researcher. I work in the Department of Radiology at Stanford, where Prof. Heike Daldrup-Link supervises my doctoral work.
We develop AI methods for pediatric whole-body PET/MRI. Segmentation models are trained almost entirely on adult scans, and children are not small adults, so anatomy that changes with age is where those models fail. We are also assembling a public pediatric PET/MRI dataset so other groups can test their methods. Pediatric medicine runs on a fraction of the evidence adult medicine has, because the cohorts are small and the studies are hard to run. That is the gap I want to work in, not least because the impact you can have here lasts a lifetime.
My background is a technical one. At school in Graz I spent my free time building robots with a team that made it to the RoboCup World Championship in Sydney, and my thesis was on CRISPR/Cas9 as a tool against malaria. Both halves were there early. I went into medicine rather than engineering because I wanted work that happens between people and not only in front of a screen. Since starting med school, I finished the first written part of the German licensing examination in the top 1% nationwide.
Outside the lab I spend most of my time playing sports. I started tennis when I was very young and later switched to volleyball. Recently I picked up triathlon and finished my first Ironman at the European Championships.
