Ritu Asija
Clinical Professor, Pediatrics - Cardiology
BioI am a pediatric cardiac intensivist specializing in the care of infants, children, and adults with congenital heart disease and heart failure. As Associate Director of the Pulmonary Artery Reconstruction Program at Stanford, I coordinate multidisciplinary care for patients with complex pulmonary artery abnormalities and right ventricular dysfunction. My clinical and academic interests include innovation in pediatric cardiovascular care, physician well-being, and faculty development. Following my appointment as a Faculty Fellow at the Stanford Center for Biodesign (2019–2020), I have continued to develop novel technologies addressing unmet needs in pediatric medicine. I also serve as a Physician Resource Network supporter, providing peer support to the Stanford School of Medicine community, and have completed the Stanford WellMD Wellness Director course. In addition, I am pursuing coaching certification to further advance faculty development and mentorship. My institutional and national leadership roles include serving on the Stanford School of Medicine Appointments and Promotions Committee and as a member of the American Board of Pediatrics Cardiology Subboard.
