Wen Li
Basic Life Research Scientist, Pathology Operations supported expenses #2
BioWen’s research focuses on mitochondrial reverse electron transport (RET) in neurodegenerative diseases where tau pathology plays either a primary or secondary pathogenic role. Her work seeks to understand how pathological tau disrupts mitochondrial complex I function and RET, and how these alterations contribute to oxidative stress and neurodegeneration. Her research further explores whether targeting RET can provide a shared therapeutic strategy across tau-associated neurodegenerative diseases.

Xiang Li
Associate Scientist, LCLS - Linac Coherent Light Source
BioXiang Li is a scientist in the AMO Sciences Department and Data Systems Division at LCLS. His research explores ultrafast molecular processes using tabletop and free-electron lasers, with a focus on probing the structure and dynamics of isolated molecules through Coulomb explosion imaging (CEI). He pioneered the use of artificial intelligence to derive physical chemistry insights from multidimensional CEI measurements. Xiang's work also includes the design, construction, and operation of experimental endstations at the LCLS AMO beamline, as well as software development for AMO experiments at free-electron laser facilities. He led the renovation of the double-sided velocity-map imaging spectrometer and the development of the DREAM spectrometer, a COLTRIMS reaction microscope designed for coincidence momentum imaging at LCLS-II.
