Jessica Tran Miller
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine
BioDr. Jessica Tran Miller is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and hospitalist at Stanford. She serves as Associate Director of Quality for the Division of Hospital Medicine, as well as Unit-Based Medical Director for the Alternative Inpatient Care Areas. She is also a physician lead for Stanford Health Care at Home, where she helped expand surgical post-acute care pathways.
Dr. Miller’s research focuses on the application and evaluation of artificial intelligence in clinical care, including personalized patient education, care transitions, and the clinical quality and safety of large language model-generated responses. She leads funded research investigating how AI-personalized education can improve continuity of care following hospitalization. Her work has been published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and presented at national and international forums.
A graduate of Stanford Medicine's Realizing Improvement through Team Empowerment program, Dr. Miller is active in quality improvement leadership within the Division of Hospital Medicine, with interests spanning care transitions, high-value care, and care delivery innovation. She also serves as a faculty advisor and instructor for the Stanford Healthcare Consulting Group, mentoring undergraduate, medical, and business students as they develop initiatives to address real-world health care delivery challenges. -
