Perin A. Kothari
Clinical Associate Professor, Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine
BioDr. Perin Kothari, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and a specialist in cardiothoracic anesthesiology. He completed medical school at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, anesthesiology residency training at the Cleveland Clinic where he served as Chief Resident, and cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Kothari is a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography and American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists, and he is committed to education and mentorship at all career stages. He serves as the residency rotation director for cardiac anesthesiology, where he focuses his teaching on advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography and organ preservation strategies for heart and lung transplantation, and he mentors residents in the Stanford Medical Education Pathway. He has received the Educator of the Year Award from the Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship program and is Director of his Department's faculty mentorship program and the Anesthesiology Speaker Program Inter-Exchange (ASPIRE), which provides early career faculty with national speaking opportunities.
Dr. Kothari has nearly 30 publications, which mostly focus on educating the practicing physician on updated evidence-based guidelines. He is an invited speaker at national medical conferences, serves on several committees of national organizations such as the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and American Society of Echocardiography, and is an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia. -
