Thomas Mullaney

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsThomas S. Mullaney is Professor of History and Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures, by courtesy. He is also the Kluge Chair in Technology and Society at the Library of Congress, and a Guggenheim Fellow.
He is the author or lead editor of 7 books, including The Chinese Typewriter (winner of the Fairbank prize), Your Computer is on Fire, Coming to Terms with the Nation: Ethnic Classification in Modern China, and the forthcoming The Chinese Computer—the first comprehensive history of Chinese-language computing.
His writings have appeared in the Journal of Asian Studies, Technology & Culture, Aeon, Foreign Affairs, and Foreign Policy, and his work has been featured in the LA Times, The Atlantic, the BBC, and in invited lectures at Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and more. He holds a PhD from Columbia University. -

Martin Stefan Mumenthaler

BioMartin Mumenthaler has a PharmD and a PhD in psychopharmacology from the University of Bern, Switzerland. He holds an appointment as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine where he has been conducting research programs in addiction medicine and psychopharmacology, and teaching and mentoring medical students and residents on a voluntary basis.
Dr. Mumenthaler has also been working in various full-time positions in the pharmaceutical industry as Director in Clinical Development as well as in Medical Affairs, and as a consultant for early-stage pharma- and biotech companies providing advice on designing and conducting clinical trials, and analyzing and interpreting study results, mainly in the field of addiction medicine and pain.
His academic research has focused on the effects of psychoactive drugs on human performance, Aerospace Medicine, Alzheimer’s disease, and addiction medicine, and in these areas he has presented his results internationally and published over twenty-five peer-reviewed scientific articles. He has also served as a reviewer for various scientific journals, and is a member of the Research Society on Alcoholism, and an Associate Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association. -

Mohammad Saeed Munim

BioMohammad Saeed Munim works at the Health Systems and Population Studies Division of the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b). Trained as an anthropologist, he holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Anthropology and has more than eight years of experience conducting public health research in Bangladesh.
His research focuses on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), environmental health, climate change and health, air pollution, antimicrobial resistance, behavioral health, and health systems. He has extensive experience working with vulnerable and underserved populations, including residents of urban and rural communities, informal settlements, remote and climate-vulnerable regions, and Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar.
Munim specializes in qualitative and mixed-methods research, community-based participatory approaches, implementation research, and behavioral interventions. His work examines how social, environmental, and structural factors shape health outcomes and access to services among marginalized populations. Drawing on anthropological perspectives, he seeks to understand the lived experiences of communities and translate research findings into evidence-informed public health action.
He has contributed to the development and implementation of numerous national and international research projects along with Stanford University, University of California, Berkeley, USA. In addition to academic publications, he has produced documentary and visual communication materials to disseminate public health research findings to diverse audiences.
His current interests lie at the intersection of anthropology, environmental and climate health, WASH, infectious diseases, and community engagement, with a particular focus on advancing health equity in low-resource settings. -
Sayar Kumar Munshi

BioDr Sayar Kumar Munshi, MBBS, MS (General Surgery), MCH (Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery), is working as a Visiting instructor in the department of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Research. He did his medical schooling from Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGME&R), India. After MBBS, he did his post-graduate training in General Surgery from Calcutta National Medical College and post-doctoral training in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery from Nilratan Sircar Medical College, India. He has worked as an Associate Consultant in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery for four years in Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, India. He pursued advanced fellowship training in Congenital Cardiac Surgery from United Kingdom. He has worked as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Congenital Cardiac Surgery in Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool and as a Clinical Fellow in Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery (ACHD Surgery) in Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital for a year. Subsequently, he underwent fellowship training in Cardiac transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery from Freeman Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust, UK.

Rudo Linda Munyengeterwa

BioLinda Munyengeterwa is IFC’s Global Director of Transaction Advisory - PPPs and Corporate Finance. Her role involves working with teams around the world to design public-private partnerships (PPPs) and collaborate with private sector clients on corporate finance solutions. These activities mobilise private sector capital in developing countries, aiming to deliver tangible impact. The Transaction Advisory team has experience advising governments on designing and bringing to market commercially viable PPPs across various sectors to provide infrastructure and social services to communities. The Transaction Advisory team is on track to deliver nearly $6 billion in private capital mobilisation, contributing 20-25% to IFC’s Core Mobilisation. In FY24, the team delivered $4.9 billion in private capital mobilisation.
Linda became the Global Director in 2022 after serving as the Regional Industry Director (RID) for Africa and Middle East Infrastructure for nearly four years. As RID, she focused on growing IFC’s investment operations and advisory services in energy, transportation, telecommunications, media and technology, mining, and municipal and environmental infrastructure across these regions. During her tenure in Africa, the business grew to over $2bn annually, providing infrastructure access and services to millions.
Before joining IFC, Linda worked as an investment banker in the mergers and acquisition teams of JPMorgan and Fleming Martin.
