Alexandrea R. Henry

Graduate Program Assistant, GSE Dean's OfficeBioAlexandrea Henry is a Ph.D. candidate in the Graduate School of Education in the Race, Inequality, and Language in Education and Curriculum Studies and Teacher Education programs. They earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in education from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Alexandrea’s research draws on Black studies, Critical Pedagogy, and studies of Carceral Logics in education to examine how young people make sense of power through disciplinary practices at school. Moreover, she is interested in centering the experiences and expertise of K-2 students in the fight for liberatory learning spaces. While at Stanford, Alexandrea has worked on the Accessible Ethnic Studies, Newberry Institute, and Juvenile Justice and Alternative Education projects. She has also taught in San Bruno Jail and served as a Systems Navigator with the Santa Clara Public Defender's Office. Previously, they were a public school teacher and union organizer in North Philadelphia, a preschool teacher in Oakland, and has worked on district-level projects related to equity and professional development. Ultimately, she believes in advocating for and co-creating worlds where every person is free, from the River to the Sea.

Aoife Henry

BioAoife Henry earned her doctorate in Electrical, Computer & Energy Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder, funded by and in collaboration with the wind energy control systems team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). During her doctorate, she applied her joint specializations of machine learning and control systems to implement and validate forecast-enabled wind energy controllers using state-of-the-art time-series forecasting models. She is now working to commercialize and scale this technology under the wing of the Stanford Sustainability Accelerator Fellowship at the Doerr School of Sustainability.

Meredith A. Henstridge
Associate Scientist, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
BioMeredith received a PhD in Applied Physics from the University of Michigan in 2018 and held a position as a postdoctoral scientist at the Max Planck Institute for the Structure of Dynamics and Matter in Hamburg, Germany from 2018-2022. Her expertise spans across the interfacing of metamaterials with nonlinear optics, spontaneous and coherent Raman scattering, nonlinear phononics, and ferroelectrics.
Meredith's current research at SLAC focuses on developing near-field-based approaches for delivering high-field mid-infrared and THz-frequency sources for experiments with LCLS-II, the development of efficient laser-driven devices for enabling high temporal-resolution experiments at the Ultrafast Electron Diffraction (MEV-UED) beamline, and efforts towards realizing an electron beam-based source that can deliver multi-cycle mid-infrared pulses at both high energies and high repetition rates for experiments with LCLS-II.
Meredith is one of the primary SLAC laser scientists supporting time-resolved experiments on the X-ray Pump-Probe (XPP) beamline, and she also supports the laser team at the Macromolecular Femtosecond Crystallography (MFX) beamline.
