Cherry Salazar (she/her) is an award-winning investigative data and multimedia journalist from the Philippines. Cherry previously analyzed and visualized data for Civic News Company, collaborating with national and local reporters covering education, voting rights, and public health. At the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ), Asia's first nonprofit investigative newsroom, she reported on campaign finance, social media and disinformation, energy transition, and attacks against the press. Before that, she produced documentaries for ABS-CBN Corporation, the Philippines' largest media network until it was forced off the air by the Duterte administration in 2020.
Cherry is currently a data journalist at Big Local News, where she helps newsrooms and reporters produce impactful data-driven stories.
