Casual - Non-Exempt, Epidemiology and Population Health
Bio
I am a PhD student in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. My academic journey includes a Master of Public Health from UNLV and a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Bangladesh. Currently, I work as a Research Assistant at Stanford Medicine, where I contribute to curriculum development for patients with mild cognitive impairment and caregivers of patients with moderate to severe cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease and ADRD. I also serve as a Graduate Research Assistant at UNLV’s School of Public Health. My work involves conducting statistical analyses using SPSS, SAS, and ArcGIS, designing survey methodologies, and contributing to multiple research projects on neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, ADRD, dementia, cognitive health, and healthcare disparities. I have several research publications in peer-reviewed journals. My research experience includes an internship at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, where I conducted qualitative studies on neurological healthcare disparities affecting minority communities in Nevada. Additionally, my clinical background as a Physical Therapist has provided me with hands-on experience in treating neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. I have presented my research at prestigious conferences such as the American Public Health Association (APHA) and have been involved in projects funded by organizations like the Michael J. Fox Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the NIH/NIA. Beyond research, I am an active member of professional organizations, including the American Public Health Association, the American Academy of Neurology, and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society. I am passionate about leveraging data-driven approaches to address public health challenges and improve healthcare accessibility.
I welcome collaborations in public health research, particularly in epidemiology, Alzheimer’s disease, ADRD, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and health disparities.
Current Role at Stanford
As a Research Assistant at Stanford Medicine, I am actively involved in developing a health education and outreach curriculum for patients with mild cognitive impairment and caregivers of individuals with moderate to severe cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias (ADRD).
