Bio


Janet Hall has joined the Stanford Alumni Association as their Chief Financial Officer in September 2022, where she oversees Stanford Sierra Camp, Stanford Travel/Study, SAA Membership, Partnerships, the Alumni Center Facility and Services and (of course), Finance and Accounting.
Previously, she had been the Senior Director for Finance and Administration in Academic Advising since 2013 where she oversaw all financial and administrative aspects of the Office of Academic Advising while collaborating with other departments to develop systematic and technology solutions.

Most of Janet’s career has been focused on the high-tech industry, most notably as VP and CFO of Fatbrain.com {*}. She has held a series of finance and operations positions in other tech start-ups, most recently SugarSync and Right Now Technologies. Janet earned an MBA from Stanford in 1997 and her BS degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley in 1990, with an emphasis on Finance and Accounting. She earned her CPA license in 1993 after five years as a Public Accountant at Deloitte & Touche. In her spare time, you’ll find her traveling and enjoying her time with her two college-aged daughters and family.
