Bio
Joe DeLong is currently the Director of the Electronics Engineering Division within the Accelerator Directorate at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. He and his team focus on the development of new accelerators at SLAC including the New Superconducting LINAC. The Division is also responsible for maintaining the accelerators at SLAC, ensuring maximum availability and reliability for the user community who use these accelerators for scientific research. Joe received his bachelor's degree from Stony Brook University majoring in computer engineering while working for the Brookhaven National Laboratory where he spent the first 27 years of his career. Joe joined SLAC in 2016 as the Deputy Director for EED and assumed the role of Director in 2023.
