Bio


Langlang’s research primarily focuses on environmental geochemistry and biogeochemistry, with an emphasis on carbon and nutrient cycling in terrestrial environments, e.g., plant–mineral interactions, chemical weathering, and soil processes across the critical zone. During his Ph.D., Langlang investigated how deep roots facilitate bedrock weathering, regulate nutrient acquisition, and influence hydrologically driven solute transport in mountainous watersheds. Langlang's current postdoctoral research focuses on biochar-based carbon management and the role of biochar in nutrient availability and supply, with implications for plant productivity and long-term ecosystem sustainability.
